At the Maui Family YMCA, we believe that no one should be turned away due to their financial circumstances. That’s why we offer income-based financial assistance for membership and program fees through the support of our Annual Support Campaign.
Who Is Eligible?
Financial assistance is available for:
- All Monthly Recurring Memberships
- Group Swim Lessons
- Youth Programs
- Camps and Afterschool Care
- Fitness and Wellness Programs
Eligibility is based on household income and financial need. Assistance amounts vary and are determined on a sliding scale.
How to Apply
The application process is easy and confidential:
- Complete the Application Form
Fill out our financial assistance form online or visit the Welcome Center to pick one up. - Provide Required Documentation
Include income verification, such as recent pay stubs or tax documents. - Submit Your Application
Return your completed application and documents to our Welcome Center or complete the online form. Processing takes approximately 2–3 weeks.
What to Expect
Once your application is reviewed & processed, an approval or denial letter will be sent through the mail.
If Denied:
- Another application may be submitted to amend your original application. Please don’t forget to be as detailed as possible.
If Approved:
- Program registrations will be automatically discounted whether they are done online or in-person
- Memberships must be activated in-person with our Welcome Center (don’t forget to bring your award letter with you!)
Please note: Financial Assistance awards towards memberships last for 6 months until they automatically expire. Renewal applications must be submitted before awards expire or the membership it is attached to will default back to the regular pricing for that membership type.
